Teach an idea

Predict first

Predict first opens a lesson with a puzzle the lesson will answer, and pupils vote on an answer before they are taught, so they want to know and the teaching sticks.

The real slide Chalk makes, in the Classroom look. Every word is written for your lesson when you use it.

How to run it

  1. Show the puzzle and the answers; everyone votes.
  2. Keep the votes, and do not give the answer yet.
  3. Come back to it at the end with back to your prediction.

Why it works

Trying to answer before being taught, even wrongly, makes the later teaching better remembered than teaching alone.
