Make sense of it

Teach it

Teach it has one pupil teach a partner the idea, covering a short list of points, while the partner listens and asks one question, and then they swap.

The real slide Chalk makes, in the Classroom look. Every word is written for your lesson when you use it.

How to run it

  1. Give a minute to plan what to say.
  2. One teaches while the other listens and asks a question.
  3. Swap, then share one good question with the class.

Why it works

Preparing to explain an idea to someone else, and answering their question, makes pupils organise what they know and notice what they do not.
